This summer, I travelled to Málaga, Southern Spain with the Lions Club and had the most amazing time. I spent the first two weeks with a wonderful host family who made sure I not only felt at home, they ensured that I explored their culture and gained an understanding of how they live in Spain. I spent most days with the son and daughter meeting their friends and doing normal Spanish things like going to the beaches, playing football and even going to a quiz night- which was pretty hard as it was all in Spanish! They took me to Marbella to see one of the richest ports in Spain and also took me to numerous water parks. After my two weeks with them was up I then travelled to Antequera to join 15 other students in camp. We spent the next 2 weeks travelling around the local area visiting various museums, water parks and places of interest. The best part about my time in camp was meeting so many wonderful people from all over the world. By the end of the 2 weeks, I had made so many great people and I have plans to meet up with them soon.
I would definitely recommend this opportunity as I have learned a lot about Spain and other countries and have made some unforgettable memories. I would love to go to a new country with the Lions again next year!
